Tim Walz, a change in tone as the White House seeks to de-escalate turmoil. Walz's office said the president agreed to look into reducing the number of federal agents in the state. U.S. District Judge Katherine Menendez pressed the federal government on the goals of the large immigration enforcement surge during a hearing on a state lawsuit asking her to end it. Minnesota called Attorney General Pam Bondi's weekend letter that made a host of demands—including for the state's voter rolls—a "ransom note."
